Fun fact: the Oryx inspired the myth of the unicorn. There were only 6 of them left in the wild in 1972 but thanks to conservation efforts their population has grown to around 1000. I took this picture in Zekreet, a village in north-western Qatar about 80 km north-west west of Doha. This region built up in the 1940s after the commencement of oil operations in the country.
